As a Welder, you will be responsible for:
* Assembling pieces of metal together or repairing damage in metal components using heavy machinery that emits high heat, melting the metal into shape.
* Reading drawings and taking or reading measurements to plan layout and procedures.
* Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
* Setting up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
* Operating angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
* Aligning components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
* Welding components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
* Repairing machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
* Testing and inspecting welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
* Maintaining equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
* Having ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
* Having ability to use general hand tools, power tools needed for welding and precision measuring equipment.
* Complying with all applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental directives and regulations
* Having ownership for completion of QC Sheets, manufacturing forms, completion work forms
To be successful in this role you will:
* Have a high School Diploma or equivalent. ‎3+ years experience in welding.
* Have knowledge of packaging manufacturing operations.
* Have experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)
* Have experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, calipers etc.)
* Have ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
* Have knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
* Have deftness and attention to detail
* Be proficient in English
* Have a Professional Certification
