Job Description

  Act with upmost integrity to ensure risk is identified and mitigated in a timely sustainable manner.

  Act as the primary point of contact for all GM Egypt Operations building strong professional relationships across the organization focused on Safety & Industrial hygiene best practices.

  
  


• 
  

  Act as the subject matter expert and first point of contact for all issues associated with safety and health compliance.

  
  


• 
  

  Take the lead for all GM Egypt Manufacturing, Non-Manufacturing, Safety & Industrial Hygiene, and operational matters that impact successful implementation of relevant GM WSS requirements

  
  


• 
  

  Work collaboratively with GM Egypt Manufacturing, Maintenance, Engineering etc., to ensure effective and sustainable implementation of local regulatory & GM WSS & Performance Standards programs.

  
  


• 
  

  Work with GM Egypt facilities team daily to coordinate and implement agreed GM WSS programs.

  
  


• 
  

  Fully utilize available GMIO business and technical resources where applicable.

  
  


• 
  

  Communicate all relevant Global Call to Action requirements across the areas of responsibility ensuring sustainable implementation of key lessons learnt, ensure all applicable data is reported in a timely manner for all areas of responsibility.

  
  


• 
  

  Work effectively with all GM key stakeholders including, Engineering, Facilities, Security & Safety & Industrial Hygiene Subject Matter Expert team members to ensure key high-risk programs such as the "GIVEN Performance Standards" Safety Contractor Management, Industrial Hygiene programs, g-DHS, Fire, Evacuation etc., are implemented, measured & monitored in line with GM expectations.

  Coordinate and support GMAS audits, conditions lists & corrective action plan implementation are monitoring across areas of responsibility.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure timely investigation, reporting & escalation of all incidents meeting the GM escalation requirements. Drive effective Root Cause Analysis and GAP closure requirements.

  
  


• 
  

  Participate and coordinate with GM WSS validations as required across all areas of responsibilities

  
  

Attend and actively participate in all required WSS management meetings,
providing operational updates focused on the customer experience, customer
strategy, reporting on progress of key programs, internal communications,
training, and relationship with GM Egypt & GM International Operations team
members.

Additional Job Description
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Extensive knowledge of safety and health hazards.
* Ability to identify potential health and safety risks.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to address industrial hygiene issues with management and coworkers.
* Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field.
* ‎3+ years of work experience in a similar role.
* Applicant would preferably have a background in safety and industrial hygiene but not mandatory.
* Awareness of Egyptian Regulatory compliance requirements.
* Knowledge of GM Workplace Safety Systems, Performance Standards,
* Awareness of GM systems including GMS, GMAS and PDCA applications.
