Assembly Shop Supervisor

Duties & Responsibilities:
* Take lead on marking layouts, allocating bays as per workload and make necessary arrangements for assembly of Mast and Substructure, Mud systems, Equipment such as traveling blocks, Iron roughnecks, Top drives, BOPs etc.
* Train and develop the assigned mechanical & electrical staff on relevant assembly skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the section objectives.
* Ensure availability of proper equipment, materials, and consumables for all the activities. Make list of hand tools for the job and ensure availability of same.
* Develop and implement appropriate techniques to ensure accuracy, productivity and level of product standards are met.
* Assigns work to department personnel to attain department objectives using knowledge of assembly processes, company policies, schedules, work orders, equipment capacity and employee capabilities.
* Effectively responds to schedules and product flows essential to supervising highly productive, cost-effective, quality-oriented assembly operations.
* Establishes and controls procedures to meet production schedules and conforming to fabricated assembly components.
* Recommends and initiates improvements to production processes, to increase manufacturing efficiency. Optimize use of manpower for higher productivity.
* Monitors and controls established procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards.
* Establishes and monitors cost control systems to achieve department budget objectives.
* Facilitates and promotes company policy and the company Quality Improvement program within all department work groups.
* Evaluates employee performance and accountability. Provides objective feedback for continued employee growth.
* Recommends and/or administers personnel actions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
* Supervise dimensional check on fabricated items/assembly to ensure compliance to drawing tolerances and detail requirements.
* Ensures personnel are using the approved latest version of drawings all the time.
* Ensure manhours are accurately captured on respective jobs using Kronos/Oracle.
* Knowledge of HSE procedures & practices and comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards and best practices. Responsible for compliance with safety and housekeeping requirements.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Shall have sound technical knowledge in rig up of mast & substructures, backyard equipment such as grasshopper, gen houses, VFD and Top drives, Iron roughnecks, travelling blocks, BOPs etc.
* Shall have experience of working to and fully familiar with mechanical and electrical aspects of assembly for above mentioned equipment.
* Experience of working in a heavy manufacturing environment with heavy handling requirements
* Experience of proving and implementing assembly processes and procedures
* Experience in managing team of mechanical, hydraulic & electric assembly.
* Expertise knowledge in tools required for assembly and testing of equipment.
* Solid blueprint interpretation skills and well versed with engineering drawings.
* Excellent communications and inter-personal/leadership skills are essential.
Qualification, knowledge and experience:
* ‎15 years' experience in rig up and assembly of oilfield equipment.
* Minimum ‎5 years' experience in supervisory role in assembly and testing shop environment.
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural engineering is preferred.
* Computer literate with experience using MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) & Kronos/Oracle or equivalent ERP.
* Demonstrates ability to supervise diverse work groups in a team environment using effective listening, coaching, training, investigative and problem-solving skills
