Job Summary:
The Aircraft Mechanic III maintains repairs and modifies aircraft
structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme
difficulty.
Principal Accountabilities
* Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components
* Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions
* Applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
* Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals.
* Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
Travel
* Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Minimum Requirements:
Knowledge & Skills
* Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical componnt troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components.
* Thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
* Detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc.
* Able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
* Possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike
* Excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.
* Basic computer data entry skills required for use of maintenance and logistics databases.
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
* FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license is preferred
Experience & Education
* High School Graduate or equivalent required.
* Five (5) or more years' experience in aircraft maintenance on the type of aircraft being serviced or related experience required.
