Assistant Professor in Academic English and Approaches to Learning - Dubai Campus

Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Deliver high quality teaching to the students of the DEP, including the development of teaching and learning material.
* To identify and support students who require extra assistance as required.
* Setting and marking of coursework and providing feedback. Preparation of Course reports.
* Attend and contribute to Course Boards and Assessment Boards as appropriate.
* To contribute to the administration associated with the course delivery.
* To assist with recruitment activities including attending open days, school visits and promotional events.

may be required to undertake other relevant duties commensurate with the
grading of the post. Activities may be subject to amendment over time as the
role develops and/or priorities and requirements evolve.
Essential Qualification:
* Degree in a relevant discipline
* Experience of teaching Academic English and/or Approaches to Learning at Secondary, Foundation, or Undergraduate level.
* Teaching experience within the British Education system.
* Effective student Engagement and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively with colleagues as part of a team.
* Ability to set and monitor quality standards.
Desirable Qualification:
* Teaching qualification.
* Masters in relevant discipline.
* Teaching experience within the Scottish Education system.
* Experience of course/programme level management.
* Experience of developing innovative learning via VLE
Ability to develop academic leadership at course /programme level.
