Position: Finance Clerk (Full time #537371)
Property / Office: Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi
Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Main Responsibilities:
* To be fully conversant with the Finance department policies and procedures.
* To support daily accounting functions and provide clerical support.
* Assist with month end closing process such as preparing journal entries, taking inventories etc.
* Assist in month end reporting procedures and ensure to meet all deadlines as per monthly reporting calendars.
* Perform filing and general administrative tasks.
* Relieve Finance department staff during their vacation and perform each essential function satisfactorily.
* Maintain accounting records by making copies, filing documents.
* Obtain necessary approval on Journal vouchers prior to recording to General Ledger.
* Obtain DOF/AFC approval on each balance sheets account statement.
* Complete monthly checklists and guidelines pertaining to month end closing.
* Ensure relevant and timely response to Corporate Office and to Owners.
* Maintain Hotel employees SIM card / mobile device agreements and coordinate with Etisalat regards to SIM card related functions.
* Assist DOF and AFC in budget preparation and input, forecast reports and monthly reporting to corporate finance.
* Cooperate, coordinate and communicate with other departments in matters concerning accounting related matters and internal control.
* Interact, as required, with individuals outside the hotel including hotel's bank, auditors and other hotels and KISA/Regional corporate offices.
* Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve overall objectives of this position.
* Besides the above normal duties Finance clerk will be called upon to carry out any other Accounting functions from time to time as required by the DOF/AFC or supervisors.
* Comply with the Company's Corporate Code of Conduct.
* Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
* Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
* Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
* Upon employment, required to fully comply with rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel's facilities.
* Violation of hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
* The contents of this position description will be reviewed on a regular basis to incorporate any new responsibilities which are deemed appropriate for the successful management of the controlling function as well as the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental Abu Dhabi.

* Additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the business and of the hotel.
Requirements:
* Degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting/Finance.
* Extensive previous experience in the same role is preferred.
* International work experience in at least two of the following regions: Asia, Europe, North America, and preferably the Middle East.
* Good communication skills, team work.
