Duty Manager

An amazing opportunity has come up for a talented individual to join our Front
Office team as Duty Manager. The Front Office is an integral part of Shangri-
La Qaryat al Beri, it is the guest’s first experience of what we have to offer
when they step through our doors which is why we encourage those who wish to
deliver the best experience for both guests and colleagues to apply.

Previous experience in luxury hospitality/customer service.

What will you do?
Develops systems and procedures for the accurate maintenance of database.
Monitor and spot check quality of work.
Ensures information from Preference Pads is keyed into the database and
promote their use to the staff.
Develops and implement guest recognition programs.
To walk the talk and be a role model in delighting our Guest.
Recognizes team members for outstanding delivery of Guest delight. Promotes
use of Guest delight club form.
Be visible and accessible to the guest and follow through.
Effective utilization of guest profiles and consistent delivery of guest
preferences.
Maintains strong relationship and goodwill with regular guests and local
patrons.
Practices and promotes effective and timely recovery of guest complaint
situations. Ensures all Golden Circle Members service recovery forms and
procedures are implemented.
Be Consistent in delivery of service.
Always meet and exceed Guest expectation.
Observe and highlight service areas which can be improved to maximize guest
value for money.
Ensures standards are maintained and delivered.
Communicates standards of service to team.
Implements and maintains Guest Loyalty measurement programs such as
Performance Monitor, We Value your Opinion and other tools.
Full knowledge of packages and promotion available to guests.
Communicate and develop a high level of competency and knowledge of marketing
programs among team members.
Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi
The hotel comprises 213 luxurious guestrooms and suites and 6 four-bedroom
villas with private pools, all furnished to the highest standards in a modern
Arabic style. To meet the needs of long-staying guests, the hotel offers 161
fully-furnished spacious serviced apartments ranging from studios to four-
bedroom units. The hotel is located within the acclaimed Qaryat Al Beri
complex, on a one-kilometre stretch of private beach overlooking the strait
that separates Abu Dhabi Island from the mainland. The hotel is conveniently
located next to a souk, offering a variety of shops under one roof. It is only
a ten-minute drive from the city’s international airport, five minutes from
the golf course and the Convention Centre, and 15 minutes from the Corniche
