JOB DESCRIPTION
The Chief Financial Officer will be fully responsible for the overall
financial leadership of Aldar Education including the oversight of the
company’s financial strategy, financial reporting, treasury operations and
financial risk management whilst delivering the organisations strategic aims
and policies to ensure high quality and successful outcomes for the business
and associated schools. The incumbent will continuously strive to exceed
internal & external customer expectations, capitalizing the economic profit
and return on capital investment, while embracing the Aldar Education Core
Values.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Duties
Provides leadership for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term
strategic financial objectives for the company.
Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the
organization, which includes providing timely and accurate analysis of
budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, providing
Executive Management with advice on the financial implications of new
programs/ strategies
Specific Duties
Lead the Aldar Education growth plan strategy and lead the five-year business
planning process to reflect the company’s long term financial and operational
directions
Lead the internal investment process including greenfield, brownfield
expansion and M&A; due diligence and valuation
Lead an effective capital allocation framework to ensure maximum possible
returns for the shareholders
Lead discussions with local and international banks for debt funding
requirements
Oversees all feasibility studies, financial management and business plan
processes to support financial decision making
Establish and maintain strong relationships with the Executive Management and
School Principals to support and advise on all financial aspects, processes,
strategy and development and any other duties as required by Aldar Education
CEO.
Provide Executive Management with advice on the financial implications of any
business activities / solutions (current or new).
Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and
business opportunities.
Cash management including managing existing and future capital through a
combination of debt and equity required to sustain the business for the long
term
Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for
the organisation
Oversee, manage and establish strong banking relationships with financial
institutions
Primary responsibility for development and oversight of financial policies,
procedures and internal controls for the company,
Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance
with the applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for
financial and tax reporting
Oversee annual internal and external audits, ensuring company controls benefit
from best in class global standards while allowing the business to function
effectively
Provide support and counsel to the business and IT department to strategise,
implement and execute digital transformation initiatives across the business
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors (BA) in business / accountancy related subject; or
Related professional accounting qualification required.
Masters in Business Administration (MBA) preferable.
Minimum Experience
A total of 12 years of leadership/management experience in a related field
required, within the Middle East region
Education industry experience essential within an operating school portfolio
Growth and expansion experience required, with a minimum of 15 years'
experience of successful M&A; projects.
Experience in supporting corporate action/capital market transactions.
